1 Year Pictures

I guess it is about time I update this Blog. We have been busy around the Colquitt home lately. We spend most of our time chasing after our little man, which is a full time job these days. I will post more later but now I have to go watch Lost with Adrian. It is the only show we must watch every week. I will leave you with some Pictures from Aiden's 1 year photo shoot. We have been using Bonnie at Blink photography for some time now and she always does a beautiful job capturing his personality. I hope y'all enjoy!

Finally we are back

OK, I know it has been a LONG while since I have updated our family blog. After several attempts to have our personal laptop fixed we finally figured out that the motherboard had crashed and also that it would cost just as much to be repaired as it would to purchase a new one. Now we have not been living completely computer free for the last several months, we have had Adrian's work computer. The problem with that is I can not download all of my pictures; so with new computer in hand I am all set. I do not know where to begin to catch y'all up on our lives for the last several months other then to say life has been pretty good around the Colquitt house. We are just truly amazed at how fast Aiden is growing and learning everyday. Everyone always tells you to enjoy every moment because they go by so fast. I do not think you understand how true that statement is until you are actually watching them fly by.

Here are some pictures from our summer and a few from the fall.

As you can see Aiden has grown and changed so much. He is a busy little man these days and is certainly keeping mom and dad on our toes. It has been such a wonderful blessing being parents and we are so thankful for all of the joy and laughter he has brought to our lives. Now that I have a computer again I will be sure to update more often so everyone else can see how fast our moments are passing by. We will keep enjoying them and sharing them with you.

Can you believe it?

For once the weather man actually got it right. It is snowing in Bama! Since this rarely happens we could not resist bundling up for a little fun with the neighbors. Aiden did not seem to mind the cold at all. After being outside for about 10 minutes he was fast asleep. We are now settled back in to our warm and cozy house, with a pot of chili brewing about to enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon watching movies.

Our Little Man

Aiden Hunter Colquitt arrived on January 5th at 2:53 pm. After two hours of pushing he was finally delivered via cesarean section. He weighed in at a whopping 8lb. 6 oz. and was 21 1/4 in. Much to our surprise he was a big boy. A few hours after he was born they admitted him to the NICU where he stayed for the next 10 days. He had a condition called "wet lungs" which is very common with babies born by c section. It was very traumatic for both mom and dad to have our baby boy taken away from us and to come home without him. We were finally able to bring Aiden home on January 13th. Since then we have been adjusting to our new life and have truly enjoyed every minute. He is a great baby and we feel so blessed to have him home and healthy.

We want to thank everyone for the countless prayers, visits, calls, and emails we have received. We are reminded often how lucky we are to have such great friends and family.

The 9 Month Journey

13 Weeks & 16 Weeks

20 Weeks & 27 Weeks

38 Weeks & Ready

What a journey it has been. After being sick for 17 weeks, I finally started feeling better. Even with the sickness, swollen feet, and a couple of other symptoms I truly have enjoyed this pregnancy. I am reminded with every movement he makes just how blessed I am to have this little miracle growing inside of me. It truly is a miraculous gift that God has given me. As most of you have heard by now, Adrian and I are going to St. Vincents on Sunday Jan. 4th to start the process of being induced. Aiden will hopefully make his grand entrance on Monday Jan. 5th ( hopefully sooner then later).

I just wanted to share a few pictures of how I have changed throughout " The 9 Month Journey"

AIDEN'S NURSERY

Creating a space for Aiden has truly been a labor of love. I had a vision from the start and a lot of people have been there to help it come together. After many hours of hard work our guest room went through a complete overhaul. We stated the process by tearing out the blue carpet that existed when we bought the house. ( I was just waiting for an excuse to get rid of it) Next step was custom wainscoting on the walls. After many "discussions" with my dad we finally got it up and painted. As with any project we start in this house it always starts out easy in theory but turns into much more. So after the flat ceiling ( that was one of those extras that was not in the original plan) and the new hardwood floors, we were on to the fun stuff. Finally putting up the baby crib, that at this point, had been hanging out in our basement for a couple of months. At last it finally started looking like a nursery instead of a construction zone. All of the rest of it came together from there.

I have to take this time to thank several people that have made this all possible. First and foremost my dad who has spent many hours and countless trips to make this room exactly what I wanted. Thanks dad for all of the hard work and love you put into this space. My mom, that has been there every step of the way with all of the endless discussions about bedding an window treatments to all of her hard work and support. To my loving husband, who has put up with me throughout the entire process. He has figured out by now that once I decide on how a room should look in my head I will stop at nothing until I am standing in that space. He may have his doubts along the way but he never lets me know. In the end he is always so proud of our new room and is the first to show it off. My Uncle Steve that helped my dad turn my 30 yr old changing table into and entire changing station that looks like a brand new piece of furniture. There are many others who have helped in other ways and we love all of you for everything you have done.
